Freelance projects
Post a project and receive bids, or bid on projects as a freelancer; the accepted bid is paid into escrow and released when the work is done.
How projects differ from services
With a service, the seller sets the offer and the buyer orders it. With a project it is the other way round: a client describes the work, freelancers send bids with their price and timing, and the client chooses one.
Posting a project (client)
- 1 Open Projects and choose Post a project.
- 2 Describe the task, the result you expect, the budget and the deadline. You can save it as a draft first.
- 3 Publish it. A public project is visible to all freelancers; for a private project, invite the freelancers you want.
Bidding (freelancer)
Open a project, read it carefully and send a bid with your price, timing and a short explanation of how you will do the work. You can edit or withdraw your bid while the client has not chosen one. All your bids are in My bids.
Tips
- Answer the client's actual question in the first lines of your bid; generic bids are rarely chosen.
Choosing a bid and paying
Compare the bids and accept one. Accepting means paying the bid amount into escrow, from your Workizon balance or by card. The project moves to In progress and the other bids are declined automatically. The money stays in escrow while the freelancer works.
For hourly projects the freelancer logs the hours worked, and the client approves or rejects each log.
Completing and paying out
When the work is done, the client marks the project as completed and releases the payment to the freelancer. Check the result before you release it: released money cannot be taken back.
If there is a problem
If the work is not delivered as agreed, the client can request a refund on an open or in-progress project. This opens a dispute that Workizon reviews; the money stays in escrow until it is decided. Try to agree in Messages first.
