Custom offers and additional charges

Send a buyer a personal price and terms from the chat, or ask for an extra payment on an order that grew in scope.

What is a custom offer

A custom offer is a personal offer a seller sends to one buyer in Messages, based on one of the seller's services: its own title, description, price, delivery time in days (1 to 365) and number of revisions (or unlimited).

An offer is valid for 72 hours. Sending a new offer to the same buyer for the same service replaces the previous pending one.

Sending an offer (seller)

  1. 1 Open the conversation with the buyer in Messages.
  2. 2 Create a custom offer and choose which of your services it is for.
  3. 3 Enter the title, what you will do, the price, delivery days and revisions. The preview shows the fees and the total the buyer will pay.
  4. 4 Send it. You can cancel a pending offer while the buyer has not accepted it.

Accepting an offer (buyer)

The offer appears in the chat. Accept it to create an order with the offer's price and terms and pay for it the usual way, or decline it. After payment the order works like any other service order: the deadline starts, the seller delivers, you can ask for the included revisions and finish the order.

Additional charges on an order

Sometimes the work grows during an order. The seller can then request an additional charge on the existing order with an amount and a description of what it is for.

The buyer sees the pending charge on the order and can pay or decline it. A paid charge is held like the order payment and released to the seller when the buyer finishes the order. If the order is cancelled, paid additional charges are refunded to the buyer.

Tips

  • Agree on extra work in the chat before you send a charge, and describe exactly what the money is for.
