The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager to join an established and growing organisation.

This is a varied role where you'll lead a small finance team, oversee key financial reporting, maintain strong financial controls and support the wider business with timely, accurate financial information.

Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you'll help drive continuous improvement, identify efficiencies and contribute to the ongoing development of the finance function.

This position offers genuine responsibility, the opportunity to influence how the finance team operates and the chance to play an important role within a supportive, forward-thinking business.

Key Responsibilities

As Finance Manager, you'll be responsible for:

  • Leading, coaching and developing a small finance team.
  • Managing the month-end close process and ensuring key deadlines are achieved.
  • Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts.
  • Reviewing journals, accruals and prepayments.
  • Ensuring balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cash flow activities.
  • Producing meaningful financial reports, analysing performance and investigating variances.
  • Supporting internal and external audit requirements.
  • Maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business, providing financial support and insight where required.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes, systems and ways of working.
  • Delivering accurate, high-quality work while maintaining excellent attention to detail.

About You

You'll ideally have:

  • ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualification.
  • Experience leading, developing and motivating a finance team.
  • Strong management accounting experience.
  • Excellent Excel skills and experience using finance systems.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to build strong working relationships across the business.
  • A positive, proactive and collaborative approach with a genuine desire to add value.
  • A progressive mindset, with enthusiasm for improving systems, embracing new technology and driving continuous improvement.
  • An interest in automation, AI and smarter ways of working, with a willingness to challenge existing processes and identify opportunities for greater efficiency.
  • Someone who enjoys solving problems, takes ownership and is keen to contribute to the continued development of the finance function.
